Alliance - Heating Up For Summer!

It's been a busy time here behind the scenes at DEMA. The Edinburgh Inspiring Capital website is undergoing an overhaul and the refreshed site is due to go live next month. Amongst other improvements, the new site will be more interactive and feature greater integration with social media.  Elsewhere, work on our summer campaign, This Is My Edinburgh, is in full swing, and planning for this year's Sparkles campaign in winter is also well under way. If you'd be interested in contributing towards promotions and giveaways, or just have some great recommendations for something that little bit different, to see or do, in the capital, please get in touch.

Clipper Round The World Yacht Race   Edinburgh Inspiring Capital arrived in San Franciso on April 4 after mast damage forced conservative sailing. In an eventful leg, California was demasted and a number of crew members were injured in rough conditions. In port, Edinburgh teamed up with SDI and Mike Russell (Minister for Education) to host an event attended by 150 target contacts from business and higher education.

Edinburgh Facebook Photography Competition As part of our social media activity, DEMA recently ran an online competition encouraging people to post their own pictures of Edinburgh. The contest was very well received, both in terms of entries and interactions with followers and the standard was very high. Jennet Walton's winning picture is shown to the right... Online Media Office We have invested in a new online media office to assist our media relations campaigns.  The system, powered by Glide, provides us with a database of real-time journalist information and a press release distribution service.
